Porotech Partners with Foxconn to Create a New Era in AR and MicroLED Technology

On December 24, 2024, Foxconn Technology Group announced its entry into the AR glasses market, joining Porotech to leverage cutting-edge Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology and vertical integration capabilities to develop MicroLED display technology and AR applications. Porotech, a global leader in high-performance GaN technology, expressed its honour in being a key partner in Foxconn’s technological advancements.

Earlier in 2024, Porotech officially announced a strategic collaboration with Foxconn, PSMC, and GIS to build the industry’s first 8-inch platform for MicroLED applications. By the end of the year, the partnership achieved a breakthrough in reducing pixel size to 1.25μm. This platform lays the critical foundation for the mass production of MicroLEDs. It is set to be applied in 2025, further advancing the development and commercialization of high-spec MicroLED products, including AR glasses and high-resolution displays.
